in january 2021 I wrote a tool to generate RSS for a webcomic that lacks it and is rarely updated
now the effort has finally paid off

a bit shabbier, used a different aircraft (C208 turboprob vs C172) to handle the high altitudes, set time to dusk and almost failed to see the airway

Show thread

quite straight on this one but did the base turn a bit slow

Show thread

this one much better, although landed very fast and passed a bit close to the hils

Show thread

got a neat flight pattern but very unstable altitude (FSX)

a bunch more code and I have it on a LCD rather than just writing to RAM

Show thread

playing with a 74HC4060, provides 10 octaves of a square wave whose frequency is set by a RC circuit

the 74HC05 is also working, fortunately neither Vcc nor GND legs are missing, there are 4 usable gates

Show thread

Bounty from a desoldering hour (iron + cheapo sucker)
2x 1nf styroflex cap
1.2nf styroflex cap
DPDT switch
Red LED
Buzzer (slightly crushed)
3v relay
28.22MHz Crystal
78hc05 inverter (with 1 amputation)
Random inductor

it is probably the piece of shit power supply I was using
opened it up, extremely shoddy construction including "bird crap" solder

Show thread

again playing with the LM311 circuit but now IRL
unfortunately huge voltage drops from the 7805 as the output changes from HI to LO

Playing with a voltage comparator circuit, the LT1011 is a LM311 stand-in, visualizing the hysteresis
