Imagine calling yourself The Indie Game Awards and not looking outside of Steam at all
award shows are always bad but at least get weird with it and look at the indie games for sickos and stuff on itch/playdate/web/etc
@MichaelKlamerus Not really paid any attention to it, but if they have a bunch of sponsors and/or advertisers that'll almost certainly be the reason. Don't want to go weird: it might get the pearl-clutchers up in arms over things, and the sponsors won't want to be associated with such things.

That kinda stuff is why I really don't pay much attention to awards shows of any kind. They're rarely doing the good they claim to be doing in earnest.
