My boy can read!
I ran to get some paper and started writing out sentences. He got each of them right. No help.
After this demonstration, my wife firmly suggested we get him some English-language pre-school books instead. I don't know why...
This one gave him a little trouble but that's because he didn't know the word "shove."
@sqhistorian Small Owlbear also got English reading via YouTube, uh, flash cards.
And then they started teaching themself Blender from video tutorials and now I have several questions about this entire education thing.
@HauntedOwlbear Whoa! How old is the Owlette, if I may ask?
@sqhistorian Seven now, but they were a little under six when they started playing with 3d modeling. It's in no way serious, but they've taken to it in the same way as kids do with more traditional art skills, making flowers and trees and such.
I still personally don't get on with video tutorials, but can't argue that they have their uses!
@HauntedOwlbear That's fantastic. Creativity play is a wonderful thing.
