Character Hand Dominance
Art from page XR-20
Because of critical strikes and called shots, a character’s good hand needs to be pre-established prior to any injury, especially the unfortunate amputation of one’s arm. Use the following table to establish the character’s dominant hand; or if the person is ambidextrousness which is common among excavators but only occurs about 1% of the time in NPCs. Androids and robots can choose to make either hand dominant, but not both unless they are specially designed to do so.

Want to know how I plan choose-your-own-path books? It's definitely VERY NORMAL AND ORGANISED, don't worry about the second pic.

Just did an interview for the Polish-language release of Into the Tower, you can now read in the original English here!

Got to talk about my favourite fantasy books, my horrible process maps, ancient ruins, making friends with monsters - and what I'm working on next 👀

Spoiler: the encounter with the Bone Demon is indeed a memorable one. It is, however, the only demon in a book called . What a fraud! Balancing it out, there are a couple of other quite spectacular encounters with non-demonic creatures to be found. Even if not particularly consistent in its theme, individual scenes will certainly stick to my mind.

is #18 in the line. It is a book consisting of three long episodes. The first one has you wade through seedy bars, neo-noir style. The second one puts you on a university planet reminiscient of the 1970s. The third one falls flat in comparison, it is an unimaginative wilderness adventure. I discussed the book in detail with a collaborator a few years ago: goodolddays.net/game/id%2C1348

Because the last I did was... really bad, I wanted to reconfirm the final sentence I planned to publish: "Andrew Chapman became responsible for some quite decent books further down the road". So I picked from the shelf. My daughter wanted to participate. A lot of fun! We made it to the end without dying (barely), but had stolen way too little gold to win. It's well written and well designed.

It had to happen. Desperate for more material, Puffin Books started accepting outside book submissions into the line, and here is their first definite misstep. used the very first book as a blueprint, not accounting for any developments since then. Worse, it is not even remotely a good imitation of the original. Don't worry, Andrew Chapman's books improved a lot later on.
